Important dates

• Guildford Songfest: Sunday 30 August 2026
  • If you are attending, please arrive at the Guildford Town Hall at 10am. First performacne is at 10.40am. The second is at 11.40am at the marquee across the road at the park. Bring all your music. Please read important information for choirs provided by Guildford Songfest
  • The choir is subsidising the cost of participation by 50% – transfer $15 to the Choir’s account (see ‘Fees’ section below for bank account details) with Guildford Songfet as the reference/description
• Cohen Noir with Monsieur Camembert event: Saturday 10 October, Astor Theatre, 4-10pm ish (performacne time is around 7pm, more details to come and rehearsal material is below in ‘Practice resources’)

• Annual Concert: Sunday 25 October 2026, 3-5.30pm, Darlington Hall
  • Volunteers for set-up will be required and everyone will be asked to bring a plate of something sweet or savoury for the afternoon tea. Warm up and ‘arrive’ times to be announced.

• Short 1 hour performances at the Old Midland Courthouse for those who can make it:

Lyrics: Everybody knows, everybody knows, that’s how it goes, everyboday knows	Lyrics: Hallelujah	Lyrics: “ahh”	Lyrics: “la la la”	Lyrics: “Ooh” “Ahh”
Instructions: Multiple repetitions towards the end til the cha cha cha ending	Instructions: The choir comes in from the 4th repetition of the chorus, i.e. after verse 4. Double chorus at the end	Instructions: There are no words for the choir to sing only ‘ahs’, which come in after the lyric: In our rags of light – All dressed to kill; And end this night – If it be your will	Instructions: No words for the choir, only “la la la”. The only tricky part is the ending of the song which loops bars 1 to 4 on the sketch 3 times. Listen to the whole song (below) and it will quickly make sense	Instructions: The choir sings the oohs and ahhs for each chorus, from teh second verse onwards
